Pablo Neruda is one of my absolute favorite poets. I love the lyricsm of his words and his utter admiration for the world around him. I love the poems in which he talks about the loves in his life- his words are always gentle and full of grace and mystery. Recently, I came across a collection of his poetry entitled, "Full Woman, Fleshly Apple, Hot Moon" and could not put it down. I embarked on a portraiture project with 14 astonishingly beautiful women actresses to attempt to capture some of Neruda's elegance in the female form. I am so grateful to my collaborators- your beauty is absolutely radiant!
Full Woman, Fleshly Apple by Pablo Neruda
Full woman, fleshly apple, hot moon,
thick smell of seaweed, crushed mud and light...
Loving is a journey with water and with stars,
with smothered air and abrupt storms of flour:
loving is a clash of lighting-bolt
and two bodies defeated by a single drop of honey...
